Sporades Islands

The ancient

Skiathos is a verdant idyllic paradise with more than 70 bays and coves. Nine small islands orbit Skiathos as if mesmerized by the islands' beauty. It is a popular resort with an active nightlife.

Skopelos is exceptionally beautiful with scenic coves and bright white churches while Alonissos is surrounded by scattered islets which form the "Marine Park", the last refuge of the Mediterranean seal Monachus-Monachus.

Skyros and Mountain Athos

The Byzantine aura

Skyros is low hills, good underwater fishing and diving, sandy beaches, sea caves and the unique Skyrian ponies.

Looking at a map of Greece , the tri-pincer peninsula in the North-East is the region known as Halkidiki. Its unique sights are its three fingers, Kassandra, Sithonia, and Athos.

The Byzantine aura of holy Mount Athos, stands like a bridge linking the past with the present. A veritable museum full of Byzantine treasures, it pulses today with living monastic traditions. Only men are allowed to visit Mount Athos and must have a permit. However, sailing past the Mount Athos peninsula, you will catch glimpses of the majestic monasteries standing like fortresses.
